A taste of happiness

I never took pictures of our garden but here is an idea of the success. I'm not a fan of radishes but Erik loves them and this is the last of what we planted of them. The garden looks great. Everything is coming up except the cucumber (well, we're not sure yet) and the watermelon. The tomatoes have gone crazy! We have a cucumber plant and that is taking over the garden. Everything else is coming along nicely. Erik redesigned the watering system this weekend with tubes and soaker hoses...what a difference that makes. It's turning out pretty good for our first garden. Just a random picture of Max eating carrots tonight and is possibly possessed? I forgot to take the red out, sorry.
And the best thing... PUDDING POPS! I haven't had these since I was a kid and they were still just as good. I've never even seen them in the stores until today. Yum! This is a picture of the box, they are a tad different then when we were kids. I also made the Bruschetta Chicken that my sister-in-law Melissa put on her blog a while back. It was SO GOOD and I thank her for posting about it!
I just watched this commercial on You Tube. If you like Pudding Pops too, watch it!

Sacramento Monarchs

Last Saturday we were invited to watch a Monarchs (WNBA) game in Sacramento with the Kapele's, Mills and DeGarmo's. No, we're not fans. But, we all thought it would be a fun outing together. And it was. We got the (free) group tickets through Andrew's art class so we were seated pretty high up. But, with 10 kids it was PERFECT! The kids could walk around the seating area and be as loud as they wanted. And they were. This was taken before the game and is one of the reasons the kids love Erik so much. He's just a bigger version of them. Above is Jordan, Teagan (upside down), Tristan, Erik, and Clay is on the bottom.
As we were walking into the arena the kids were invited to go to the court and high-five the players as they ran in. Perfect timing! They were given t-shirts and escorted by the staff (and a few other guests) to meet the players. There were being filmed as they were waiting for the team and Max's face was up on the big screen. It was there for just a moment, long enough for Kristen to yell. I missed it. :(
Max was given a t-shirt once they got closer so all the kids/big kids were purple monarchs.
Part of the group.
Mommy and Max.
Thank you Andrew for being such a wonderful artist (he really is!) and letting us all join your family at the game. We had a great time!

Not so Minty Fresh

Dear Verizon Wireless,

You should think about putting breath mints behind your front desk counter for your staff. And teach them to swallow their spit rather than letting it hang around their lips.

Stanky drool-boy also had a staring problem. Totally creepy.

Thank you for your time,

Julianne

As usual...

Max had his 6 month check-up today. Here's what we learned:
Weight: 18.6 lbs.
Height: 29 3/4 in.
The doctor did his usual feeling and monitoring, the nurse did her usual shooting, and we did our usual loving. Doc said he was proud of us. (high five!)
All this growing sure made him tired!

Music to my ears

Just another reason to be in love with this little man. We woke up to this sweet noise today. I tried to film the "bahbahbah" as much as I could but you will be able to see that Max NEVER stops moving and something else is always grabbing his attention. He stopped making the noise but I thought it would just be fun to film him. I cut it right before the meltdown.

What do I have coming?

Max and I took a walk down the street to the local Hardware Store earlier this afternoon. About halfway there I felt a little push from the stroller. I looked around and realized the little monster was trying to reach out and grab the plants as we walked by them. Seriously, picture it. He scoots as far as he can forward in his stroller and stretches. He has the mind of a 3 year old, stuck in a 6 month old body. I'm really in for it.
(I found the picture above on a really cool website. Check it out!)

Where can a kid be a kid?

Max's friend Carter celebrated his 2nd birthday at Chuck E. Cheese today. I brought my camera but it never made it out of the bag. Luckily, the big rat was taking photos. They are pictures of pictures so they are a little dark.

Happy Birthday Carter! Thanks for the fun Party!

BMX boys, and girls!

Yesterday we went to watch our nephew, Tristan, race BMX in Dixon. I have never been to a BMX race so I didn't know what to expect. Apparently, this was the most unorganized race EVER and many people left. But, we didn't know any different so we had a good time. It was very windy and dusty. There were tracks for all sorts of sports around us (Go-karts, dirt bikes, some funny car thing, etc.) so we got to watch other events in between the BMX races. There are a lot of pictures because I want Kelly to steal them for her family. Kelly couldn't go so I had Justin and his brother Josh telling me what was going on. I pretended I understood, which is why I'm not going to comment on any rankings below...I have no idea. Tristan and his best friend Bailey competing against each other.
Tree won this one.
Max and Daddy. Max would never pose for a picture if there is something else he can be watching.
The female announcer quit halfway through so Josh and another guy took over. This was when Tristan was announced as 'Stormin' Mormon'.

Tree before the race.

Teagan and his cousin Jaydn. I swear, you give a boy dirt and a few play trucks and cars, they will leave you alone for hours. And according to this picture, pee their pants and not tell anyone.

It was a fun day and a new experience for us. We hope to watch him again soon!
